Hello.  I recently purchase the Outdoor Wireless Security Package (tm751 mini transceiver, remote chime, rex-10 motion detector) ... and it works like a charm.

But I mistakenly though that a lamp or radio, plugged into the mini-transceiver's built-in appliance plug, would also go on when outdoor motion was detected.

It doesn't.

And I really need a package to turn on an appliance plug.

It appears that a similar set-up is sold with a lamp-socket module ... so that a motion detector, tripping a mini transceiver, would turn on that lamp without any security console purchased.

Would the tm751 also control a stand-alone appliance module ... so that I could plug a lamp (or radio, turned up loud) which would be turned on by the motion detector and tm751? ...

Anybody know why the appliance plug on the tm751 doesn't turn on, when it receives a signal from the motion detector?  The tm751 transmits the signal to the remote chime ... so I know the motion detector and tm751 are working.

The plug doesn't turn on.

Help!

What Housecode|Unit  is the motion detector set to?  The TM751 built-in appliance module address is fixed at Unit 1 on the Housecode set by the code wheel.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

I just took a FAST look at the DM10A Motion Sensor Instructions.

If you haven't changed it, the DM10A (as delivered) should be set to A1 - Motion / A2 - Dusk (which *SHOULD* have worked just fine with the TM751, but seemingly doesn't).

If the TM751 is hearing the DM10A and ringing the SC546A, then you have *THAT* HouseCode / UnitCode Combo set correctly. But, as Charles mentioned, the TM751 is HARDCODED / FIXED to UnitCode 1 - did you change that?  ???

P.S. To get a MUCH BETTER HANDLE on X10 (as a Newbie), please read *ALL* of the LINKs referenced in my SIG LINK (*expecially* those from "Uncle Phil"!) :)

>>change code

Ayup ... thanks guys!

I did change the code on both the motion detector and the chime to c-5 when I first got the outdoor motion security package.

Why?

Well, in my newbie state of mind ... I figured there was less of a chance of my neighbor having something set to A1.

I appreciate the replies.  Will correct the errors of my ways ... and will follow and read the links as you suggested.

Also ... does X10 put some coating on their products that makes someone addicted to thinking, dreaming about security products and various ways to deploy them?  I figure they must ... because it's all I've been thinking about lately!  HA!

Changing the code back to 1 worked like a charm!

I'm a happy camper now!

I reset the unit code from c-5 to c-1 on both the motion detector and chime ... and the 110 plug on the mini-transceiver tripped perfectly!

Thanks again guys!

They do for their web site. It's called "pop ups". It's driven many of us away from their web site for our X10 needs.

Yep to join the club, think we'll all pretty much addicted, must have something to do with the packaging.  ;D
