3.187 upgrade went fine..timers still dont work
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:43:02 AM »

...so i am going to try and get a
replacement cm15a as i have a 1 yr
warranty.  AHP can turn on/off lights just
fine, but no timers will execute with ahp
up or not.

Skip: If you can turn lights on and off from
within AHP, you should be able to get timers
to work. If you start with one module, set a
time in the near future (a minute or two),
then download to the interface (keep the
interface connected to the PC), what happens?
Does the module status change on screen? Does
On command for the timer appear in the
activity monitor?

Nothing appears in the activity monitor and
no change on the AHP module.

I have tried about every
combination...including
1 unplugging the cm15a,
2 removing batteries for a few minutes,
3 rebooting pc,
4 pluugging cm15a back in,
5 bringing up ahp
6 clearing cm15a memory,
7 downloading hardware config
8 setting a timer for 2 min from now
9 downloading timers and macros to cm15a
10 turning on and off a module from ahp and
that activity shows on activity screen,
11 wait for timer to trip
12 nothing...no activity on monitor...

I have also tried combinations of the above
with no joy.

I agree...if ahp can turn on/off/dim
modules, timers should work as
well...strange<g>

There is also an ATI all in wonder (9600)
card in that PC.  Installing 3.187 caused
the TV to stop working.  I am going to
reinstall the ATI software this weekend.
Think that has anything to do with AHP and
the CM15a?  Is there a trick to getting them
to work together??

Thanks

I am running windows XP Media Center, and
AHP was always messing with the TV tuner, to
the point that I returned AHP.  I was
planning to buy another product, but am
holding off until our new house is ready.
Insteon looks like it will be promising once
they get a few more components out there.

Skip: There is a potential conflict with some
of the ATI software and AHP, but I can send
you instructions for working around that
problem. That wouldn't affect your timers,
however. Maybe it would help if I tried your
configuration here. Can you send your
ActiveHome Pro data file (.AHX file in
Program Files\ActiveHome Pro) to
ahpsupport@x10.com so I can load it in my
interface here and see what I get?

X10 pro,

Thanks for the offer to help 'unstick' my
ATI software<g>.  Email address for the
instructions is skip@skipw.net.  I havent
yet reloaded the ATI software, so I will
give this a go before i do that.

I will send you the .AHX file later this
evening when I get home.

I am having the same problem with the
timers.  Occasionally, I can get one to
work, but not consistent.  Also, I am using
3.186 and cannot get the update to 3.187.
If I go through help and update, it crashes
the software.  If I click on the pop up, it
shows the update screen and when I click
it, the software closes and nothing happens.

A new wrinkle on my timer problem.

Timers seem to work ok ONLY if the 'store in
interface' check box is checked off and ahp
is left running.

If this box is checked on, the timers dont
work, even after following all the steps to
clear memory, update the hardware, and
download the macros and timers.  All that
goes well, except the timers dont work and
no activity on the monitor.

Uncheck the box, leave ahp up, and the
timers work.

X10 Pro, Skip, Others,
I am also running an ATI 9600 in the control
computer, however, I run diconnected from the
CM15A.  I have been having some intermittant
looping trouble lately exactly at Dusk+20min
as reported by the outside flood.  I get  a
Dawn macro trigger and the AM does not agree
with what is happening...Not sure about the
AM but something does not seem quite right
here...not a finger on it yet but  I will be
checking on more detail each day.  There are
a few other things popping up such as motion
sensors not responding until after a second
sense and things seem a bit slower.  More
testing may reveal the sore spot.  Is there
something ATI users need to know ?
Regards,

I had the same problem with my timers...After reading some posts here , I tried to execute timers with the "store in interface" unchecked. And what do you know.....It worked.
Did anyone fine out why that is?
