RR501 house code - simple house code question
« on: October 30, 2006, 12:03:49 PM »

Does the RR501 transceive only the house code assigned by the red dial on the front or will it pick up all house codes?

Does it only transceive hand held remote signals?

I am having trouble using an RR501 to transceive EagleEye motion sensor  signals.   My CM15A picks up the motion sensor signals when it is nearby, but not when 100 feet away so I'm trying to use an RR501 to pick up the motion sensor signals.  Is this possible?

The RR501 only tranceives the House Code on the Red Dial and all 16 Unit Codes from that house Code. The CM15A in the hardware configuration can be set to all or some of the 16 House Codes.
Try the CM15A Antenna Horizontal for better range.
The RR501 will tranceive any standard RF signal from a motion sensor or remote. It does not do the extended codes from a security remote.
Yes it may help for the sensor but if the powerline has issues like noise or a signal absorber. More troubleshooting maybe needed. Also 100' is a fairly long distance to go if there is anything blocking the signal like a wall with insulation in it or a metal door etc.
Some folks have done Antenna mods to the CM15A for more distance or got a third party all house code unit like the WGL v572ab

Yep, the RR501 only works with the HouseCode it's set to.   The v572 will do all, but it may be more than you need atm.

Are you using the RR501 to convert the signal from the motion detector to PLC to be pickup up by the CM15A and passed to your computer or to turn on a module directly?

When you say the RR501 is not responding to the eagleeye, is it not receiving the signal or is the PLC signal not getting to it's destination.   two different issues.

There is a number of simple things you can do to increase the range of the CM15A but probably not to 100' through walls.

And there are some thing you can do to help the signal from the eagle eye get to it's destination better.
