SR227 modules turn on, but not off.

I have two SR227 outlets installed in my kitchen for under cabinet lighting. I can turn the lights on fine but 90% of the time the SR227 will not respond to the off.

I then have to physically unplug the lights to get them off (which sucks because it's installed high up in a cabinet).

When I do unplug them (thus nothing is plugged in) I can hear the unit responding to both on / off codes.

Any ideas?

It sounds like a noise or signal sucking problem. Please post back and let us know what type of lighting you are using. Is it low voltage with some type of power supply?

I'm not 100% of the model. They are undercabinet lights.. It isn't a normal type bulb that goes into the light, I know that. I do believe it has a power supply. Will double check tonight.

I'm actually going to get new under cabinet lighting..

What should I look for inparticular that will be compatible with the SR227 modules?

The lights I have now are Halogen with a transformer.

If it is a plug-in, then the SR227 will control it and by extension the under cabinet Halogen lights.

How does the transformer connect to ac power? I'm not sure what you mean by that.. There is the plug that goes into the outlet, then a few inches of wire, then the transformer inline, then some more wire to the lights..

Your "transformer" is probably a switching power supply which sometimes creates havoc for X10. Search the forum for "noise" for information. The simple solution is a plug in filter which goes between the SR277 and the halogen's "transformer".

I just looked and filters are like $40-$50 and the homebrew looks scary to me as I don't really like screwing w/ electric / wiring.

So aside from getting a filter the way to go is getting lights w/out a transformer? Wonder if they even make those..

Plug-in X10 filters are about $10 on eBay, including shipping.  Search for XPPF.
