Recently purchase a wireless or Hardwire Camera, in wireless mode, lithium batteries last about two hours to four hours before having to be recharged.  Two hour is when you are using the IR Led's at night.  Hooked up the newer cameras  receiver to Video Capture and using AHP received a decent picture.  Noted while doing so that my x10-camera would work on the same receiver; however I was only about 10 feet away.

X10 receiver would not pick up the newer camera.  Will experiment more with this to see what kind of range I can get.  Cost $68.00.  A 200 ft range IR LED with beam about 20 feet wide can be purchased for around $80.00.  From what I have read the X10 will not work with IR LED or am I mistaken?

Yes, according to X10 Tech, those regular Xcam2 camera uses CMOS and will not work with IR Illumination LED lights.  Those IR will work only on CCD type of surveillance cameras.

Hope this helps...
