RCA ActiveHome Kit (HC60RX)
« on: January 01, 2007, 07:12:57 PM »

X10 has the subject RCA controller(serial PC interface) on sale for $10. I am also having some trouble with the CM15A USB controller so I was considering the RCA controller as a replacement. Does anyone have any experience with this controller? I don't want to spend even $10 on another controller that has problems.

Thanks

The RCA (CM11) controller does not work with the AHP software that came with the CM15A.

If you are running Windows XP you may also experience problems with the RCA controller due to problems related to Windows XP and some serial port hardware.

You asked!  ;)   :)

Thanks for the help Bill...

I was planning on using the RCA controller with a Windows 2000 computer. I'm using it for some basic lighting control so I don't think the different software would be a problem.

Thanks again.

You're very welcome.

Also, the $10.00 deal usually doesn't come with a manual or software, so look here for those: http://kbase.x10.com/wiki/ActiveHome

This is a more direct link to the software only: http://www.x10.com/support/support_soft1.htm
