Macro Generated Email Time Tag

Greetings,

I've just starting experimenting with sending email via macros.  It appears to work fine to a yahoo account and my office mail.  However in both cases the time tag associated with when the mail was sent is the correct time minus 5 hours.  I ran my test a couple times and my PC system clock is set to the correct time. 

I'm using AHP/CM15A with all the plug-ins.  Everything I have is no more than 3 months old so I presume I have current versions, etc...

Any ideas?  I did a search herein and didn't find anything relevant.

Have you tried both Transmission methods: SMTP & X10 Portal? (MyHouse / Email Configuration)

Not sure what else can be messing with your time.

Well.  I'll experiment with this.  My method is set to "Auto".  But in any event it would seem like the only logical (IMO) scenario would be for AHP et al to use the system time of the host PC and that is a trivial Win32 API call to retrieve...... Go figure.

I tried both transmission methods.  Same result.

If I recall correctly Eastern Standard Time minus 5 is GMT...... But why would GMT be relevant?   This is bizarre.

Is your email server 5 hours off from your present location?

Hmm... I was going to suggest that maybe MyHouse was actually sending the email through a server at X10 in Seattle, but that would only account for about 4 hours unless there was a messed up Daylight Savings time setting somwhere along the path.   

Sorry, guess that would only account for 3 hours anyway (Seattle is GMT minus 8 ).  My bad.

Hmm.  OK, I was backwards on GMT.  That's EST plus 5.  I haven't been across that "pond" for awhile so I got my wires crossed.

Reiterating what I speculated before, it seems like the only thing that makes SENSE is getting time from the AHP host PC.  This isn't catostrophic, I guess.  "Weak" is the word that comes to mind.

I'll play with it some more and report anything that appears useful.
