Carmine, Have you tried the V572AB all
housecode transceiver with the 1132cup? I'm
currently using the V572AB for RF remotes
and motion detectors and am getting
excellent range. My CM15A has
the "transceived house codes" selected for
none due to poor RF range. I'm also having
similar problems as other users with the
CM15A running simple macros. Some days it
works and most days it doesn't. I'm playing
the waiting game awhile longer for a fix of
the CM15A before I consider the 1132cup. I
too would like one unit(CM15A)to do
everything. CM15A number is 04J44 2 prong
polorized, bought in Dec.2004. AHP with
Smart macros Ver 3.183 operating
disconnected from computer. Windows XP with
SP2. CM15A used disconnect from computer. 21
modules / two macros / three timed events.

Gentlemen, Gentleladies, Supertechs, Gays,
Guys, et al:  The real question is not as to
your abilities, bravado, paranoia,
compulsion to defend the downtrodden, etc.,
The real question is two part with a follow-
up:
1.   Is the AHP/X10 currently a viable
product?
2.   Is the X-10 company a viable vendor
of said product?
And the follow-up question is:
If you were a bank would you give then an
unsecured loan based on their business
acumen and reputation?

I rest my case.

For those of you who are hopefuls P.T.
Barnum says it all: “One is born every
minute”.

For those of you who feel “above it
all”:  “We have all that you will ever
need.  If we don’t have it you don’t need
it.  If we don’t know of it, it simply isn’t
for we are the center of the universe”

For those of you who are trying to make
lemonade:  “Remember the processionary
caterpillar axiom”.  Each following the one
in front unaware that it is a circle around
the food rather then toward the food.

You decide for you are the customer and X10
has your money.

Corrected version- sorry
X10 pro:  Thanks for the debugging tip.
Here's how it  worked out with no CM15a and
one RF  transceiver in the plug that
formerly held  the cm15a: with the phase
coupler/repeater  repeater (Leviton HCA02)
off, I have my old  problem of incomplete
coverage. With the  phase coupler on I have
complete coverage.  Replacement of all
transceivers to their  former places
including the CM15a produces  another
problem. It seems that the cm15a and  the
coupler/repeater have an "echo" contest.
Each signal is repeated forever. I've had
this problem for a while and had the
coupler/repeater off to prevent it. The
problem can also be defeated by setting the
cm15a transceive codes to "none". I don't
know how this setup will work so far as the
programming is concerned. Tonight will tell
the tale. Meanwhile, does anyone have any
ideas as to why the transceive codes being
on has this echo effect? The cm15a doesn't
repeat the RF or the wired signal as far as
I know and the coupler/repeater certainly
doesn't repeat the RF. Could it be a
repeated collision/backoff-retransmit
situation and not an "echo" transmit one?
The other transceivers are a X10 RR501 and
a  Radio shack 61-2663R.  Thanks to all  djw

Observer...

Answers:
1. Is THE AHP A VIABLE PRODUCT: Yes, mine
works pretty well.. so did MS Windows
2. IS X10 A VIABLE VENDOR: Looks like they
are ! My self ordered CM15A shipped out on
time and exactly to what I agreed to pay for
it, the software and some freebies.
WOULD A BANK GIVE THEM AN UNSECURED LOAD ?
YEP !..Looks like they did. Of course they
may not give you an unsecured loan.
Actually, I think those questions are
irrevalent, especially to X10.
It sounds as though you are actually done,
good luck to you with whatever product,if
any, you go with. Hopefully they will have an
open forum like this one we can all visit.
Haven't seen it yet.
Hopefully you can get a refund if you are
that unhappy.  Maybe it would be more wise to
spend your efforts in that regards rather
than here.  The payoff may be much better.
Good Luck to You.

David JW,
I experienced a similar problem with a second
CM15A online and the unit set to NO
Transceiver operation and NO Program was
loaded.  I got sporadic double PLC's ... not
all the time... and very hard to track down.
Soon as I removed the unit, all was quiet
again.  I will be testing a bit more later.

Steve RF:  Your personal attacks are not
appreciated nor are your superficial
responses to some basic and serious
vendor/product considerations.  It is
obvious that neither the business nor
technical depth of thought was applied.

I sincerly urge you to quit trying to be a
self-proclaimed defendor of X10, and a
spoksman for them and go get a real job.

I would like to repeat (and I do not work for
X10, nor am I defending them).  I have a Dell
computer; I'm using Windows XP, Home
Edition,SP2.  I have had AHP since Sep.,
2004.  I have Smart Macros and iWitness.  I
have had some problems, mostly with Smart
Macros.  None with iWitness and I am using 4
cameras.  I have not gone down the block to
see if I can control things with a keychain
remote.  I can control everything from
anywhere in the house and and in the
immediate vicinity outdoors.  I do not use
any non-X10 equipment.  Now, using logic,
which seems to be in short supply here, it
would seem that your problems are of your
making, or is that too simplistic for all of
these "programmers with 25 years experience"?

Jess,
I am happy to hear you are not having much
trouble with the iWitness stuff.  I am
interested in that but will probably wait
until it matures a month or so.  I can't say
I have been quite as trouble free but after
receiving the diag unit mine seems to be ok.
Slow in the motion sensor response area at
times but ok.  The only trouble I have had is
when trying to use a second CM15A for
catching USB/PLC commands with X10Dispatch
for verbal announcements.  It is probably my
dumb configuration errors but we will sort it
out eventually.  Maybe someone else is doing
the same thing and can offer some advice.

Greetings,
After setting the CM15a to "transceive no
codes" (as reported in my last note) I have
allowed the system to run for three nights
with the computer on. All simple scheduled
events seem to work. I have just
disconnected the unit from the USB port and
connected it to another computer which will
remain off but will provide termination for
the USB (I have seen reports of possible
noise coming into the CM15a from unconnected
USB ports). I'll report on the stability of
the timer and the serial number of my unit.
