So I went as far as to uninstall everything,
and then reinstal hoping that it might
resolve my problems with the IWitness
stuff.  Didn't do a damned thing as near as
I can tell.  Whenever I try to launch AHP, i
get the splash screen with the 3 plugins
listed.  They all show unregistered, and
that is where the software hangs.

Tuicemen

have you tried reverting back to v3.183?

Do an uninstall and go to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\X10

You'll see two folders:

"Common" and "DriverInstall", delete both of
them.

Reinstall all of your software and you
should be fine.

greg murrelll

No Luck.  I uninstalled, deleted both
folders reinstalled, same results.  POS
never leaves the splash screen.

Hum, ok let's do a major wipe out (you will
still need to delete "Common"
and "DriverInstall" directories before or
after).

First, make backup copies of your AHP
configurations in a different folder before
pursuing!

When you uninstall, select "Custom" instead
of "Automatic" when prompted by uninstaller.
Select all files that will be shown untill
finished.
When finished, look in "C:\Program
Files\ActiveHome Pro" to make sure no files
are remaining. Delete even the "ActiveHome
Pro" directory.

We won't touch the registry entries.

Re-install everything, when prompted, as I
remember, "Update other X10 components"
select "Later".

You should then be ok.

greg murrelll

Nope...same thing.  I did the custom
uninstall, selected everything I could to
delete, then reinstalled.  Exactly the same
thing again. Not sure if it is relevant, but
this is towards the tail end of the
x10net.log.

Got the same mention as well in x10net.log.
Anything special in the INSTALL.LOG in
C:\Program Files\ActiveHome Pro?

X10 Pro - Any advice?

martin

Just had a couple of thoughts, if you click
on the "Splash Screen" does AHP resume?
Also, when installing AHP, did you upgrade
to 3.186 before starting AHP?

greg murrelll

Nope, the only action  I can get out of AHP
at all is I can right click the AH icon in
the taskbar, and it pulls up the normal menu
you would see from there.  Only problem is,
the only menu item that works is close.  As
far as starting it, the installer for the
smart macros automatically launches the
program when it finishes.

martin

You're right about Smart Macros, it does
install 3.186.
What OS are you using? This is really odd,
whish I could physically be there.

I have ripped this crap out by the roots,
deleted all registry entries, removed every
trace of it I could find, and still the same
thing.  I would have hoped that since I
started this thread at 5:00am, that X10
might have thrown in their 2 cents at some
point over the day/

Greg: Hope this is better late than never.
Try deleting the file named x10active.xml
from Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\X10 Settings\ and see
if that helps.
