 :o I PLUGGED  MY NEW TM751 TRANSCEIVER INTO A 50HZ 110V SOCKET, IT STARTED HUMMING AND LATER SMOKE CAME OUT OF IT. WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

Brian H

It sounds like it is defective.
This was on a standard power grid; not on an off grid inverter? Off grid inverters and most x10 modules do not get along.

A 50HZ 110V SOCKET

Where are you getting 50Hz?  Are you in Japan?
* Sears Home Control System, Radio Shack Plug 'n Power, NuTone, Stanley LightMaker, BSR, HomeLink.
* Tecmar Device Master, CP290 (LightHouse), CM11A (AH), CM14A (AH2), CM15A (AHPro).

What do you do?  Buy one that was designed for 50Hz!   :o   ::)

I am afraid you have turned that one into a paper weight.   :'(

In the real world, the only constant is change.

When I'm online you can find me in the Home Automation Chat Room!

Never, EVER let the smoke out.  Techs charge LOTS of money to put it back in!!!

Bill; I turned a TM751 into a paper weight with an UPS on battery power. They do not like modified sine waves. ::)

Joined yesterday and never has come back.  Wonder if he's just a "hanger-on".  His e-mail is a YAHOO! account with no foreign suffix, which would indicate a US address.

50HZ current?  Not in the US or Canada.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!
