There has been some recent discussion regarding X10 changing the "innards" of some of their devices. I thought I'd share one I ran across today.
I have been using the Leviton 6314 RF Transceiver for years, and have told people that it was equivalent to the X10 RR501. It is the same physical size as the RR501, and the FCC ID ends with "-RR501". TakeTheActive questioned that because the photo in a recent Leviton brochure shows a smaller unit. Today I received several Leviton 6314 Transceivers that are NOT the same as the prior unit. These are identical in size to the TM751, and the FCC ID ends with "TM751". The only difference in the Leviton catalog number is a -W suffix, which they use to indicate the unit is white. The earlier RR501 version is white too.
So, if you buy a Leviton 6314 RF Transceiver, you may in fact get either the TM751 or the RR501 equivalent. As we all know, there are some significant differences between these two units.
