What software to use for X10?

I have a situation where a large event room with several light and appliance groups.
I'm looking for a PC software that has a intuitive interface for direct access e.g. groups represented
graphically with slider (so a touch screen could be use).
Also what's the most reliable interface?

Many thanks in advance!

Most of the discussion here involves getting "Stock" X10 products working (with the except of 'cutting edge' Dave_x10_L who's been having a ball lately with BXVC adding microphones and voices etc... :D ).

Post your question over at: CocoonTech: Home Automation and be prepared to spend some SERIOUS BUCKS - they'll have your answer though... ;)

dorcom,
In order to receive the most revelent answer it would be helpful to know what OS you'r using.
Linux, Windows, Mac, Solaris etc.. ?
I'm sure you don't want to receive a recommendation for software that you won't be able to run on your system.
