I need some help on using 2-way appliance module PAM22
What does 2-way do?
A 2-way module will respond to a poll with a signal indicating whether it's on or off.
Does the computer need to be ON to process 2-way functions.
It depends.
What I am looking to do is:
Whenever my appliance goes on via HomePro or Wireless remote, I want it to be OFF in 5 minutes - preferably from the interface module and the computer off.
How does a newbie program this ?
Thanks
I assume by "HomePro" you mean ActiveHome Pro.
Follow these steps:
Drag in the icon for a PAM22 from the X10 Pro section and set its housecode|unit address to that on the code wheels of your module. Assume this is A1.
Click on Macro "+" in the left panel to start a new macro.
Set the macro trigger address to that of your PAM22, e.g., A1, and verify the ON radio button is selected.
Drag in the icon for "Delay" from the panel on the right and set it to the time you want, say 00:05:00.
Drag in the PAM22 icon from the panel on the right and set the radio button to OFF
Click on File > SaveAs and save a copy of your file.
Click on Tools > Download Timers and macros
Now try it out and it ought to work.
BTW, this will work with any appliance module - 2-way is not required. However if you click Tools > Activity Monitor you will see that your PAM22 has responded to the On and Off signals with an "Output status acknowledge" message - that's the 2-way part of it.
