Yes, it is as simple as it sounds. All I want to do is push different buttons on my X-10 remote and have my computer play different sound files. This is for Halloween. I have been googling for some time now and all I find is s/w that can record x-10 macros in response to an x-10 cmd received. I know there's s/w out there that can do what I'm asking. Free s/w would be nice. I have a CM11A, Windows & some large, universal X-10 branded remote.

Thanks.

If you have winamp you can download a few plugins that will allow you to send command lines to contol winamp. One is called clamp and the other is called wacommand. clam will alllow you to start and stop winamp from a command line and wacoomand will allow you to load playlists and such.. All you need to do is create batch files for these operations and have a macro send a pc command to run the batch. I used this for my halloween prop and it worked great!. Hope that helps
X10 has brought me closer to my inner geek! But it has aslo made my wife look at me funny!
