Arc Fault Circuit Interupter
« on: October 31, 2007, 04:37:28 PM »

Does X10 work okay on an Arc Fault circuit?

All bedrooms in new construction have to be on an arc fault circuit and it also been proposed in the new 2008 code book for every circuit in a house to be on an arc fault circuit.

I'm just wondering if this is gonna cause any problems or not?

We have several Square D AFCIs installed here, and there is no problem getting a signal through them even without the XTB.

Thats very good to know then!

I was actually more worried about breakers tripping than anything.  Those AFCI's are sensitive.

My workshop is supplied through an Arc Fault because it could be used as a bedroom.  Even the XTB-II's 40Vpp output blasting onto that line doesn't cause the Arc Fault to trip.
