With OnAlert, Smartmacro's and Myhouse with AHP, I tried a simple email notification activated by a condition such as a sensor switch and embedded lights to come on and off inside the macro. I did this to see if the macro was getting executed on the condition. Well, the lights came on and off, but the email was not sent. I set up the email address correctly and tried using different transmission type's like auto or SMTP, but nothing worked. I read some posts saying some conditions don't work in AHP, but I got the trigger to work and execute everything in the trigger, except the mail function did nothing. Has anyone got this to work? I tried posting the AHP example and it complains about a file which is < 0.5 meg. What a joke....Files can't be > 128K. Nice X10...

Thanks
Dale

I have no problem receiving e-mails from AHP other then it not using the same method to send each time! ::)
Probably Just a setting with your firewall or in your router if your behind one!
File posting is pretty much limited to posting pics! :(

Vista has some advanced security settings both for internet and the program itself!
since turning off the fire wall allowed the e-mail to go threw the problem is in Vista (not so much a problem but a setting)!
Since I don't run Vista I can't pin point exactly were to look for your firewall settings or what to set!
Hopefully someone else here running Vista will chime in with a walk threw for you!

Hi Tuicemen,

Sometimes now, I get an email from AHPGateway@x10.com from my Vista machine when my macro excecutes on a back door trip. It works once in a while but not always.. In addition, only one of the email addresses work thats in the macro even though both are valid...I wonder why?

This is the message I get...... Any clue why it works when ever it feels like it and not every time the macro runs?

Thanks
Dale

Dale - it looks like your Macro will only fire when A1 goes OFF.  And you're using a lamp module as a trigger?

Why aren't you using the BackDoor Sensor as a trigger?

I am using Vista - and when AHP is NOT locked-up it always sends email.  AHP must be running to enable email.

There is a bug in the e-mail sending sometimes it sends pop3 other times through the gateway server doesn't matter which you have chosen in AHP :(.
If AHP can't send e-mail VIA POP3 then that is why sometimes you get mail and other times you don't! ::) Has nothing to do with VISTA! there is no set pattern to which method AHP will use! >:( ::) ???
As PajamaGuy noted you have your Light (A1) set up so it will trigger the macro as well as the sensor!
For more reliability you should have your lights on a different address then the motion sensor ;)(of coarse this won't help with the e-mail issue)! ;)

Thanks for the input guys..... I listed this macro as a test only which does not work. Since, then I have it triggered by a back door sensor hoping X10 would try and help me with it(No response as of Yet).

Thanks
Dale

Hi, you can take a look at this post it may help you out. I use my door/window sensors to trigger a macro and send me an email when opened on certain days between certain hours. They have worked 100% of the time.  ;D
