I'm considering running a USB cable up through the ceiling, and then plugging the CM15A into an outlet in the attic.

Does anyone know the recommended operating temperatures for this device?

Thanks!

Most commercial electronic components are rated for 0C (+32F) to +70C (+158F) operating temperature. I don't recall any special heat sensitive components in the CM15A. I would be more concerned about the plastic melting during the summer months.

But do keep in mind that the failure rate of the CM15A will increase with an increase in operating temperature.

FWIW

I have a couple of Appliance Modules in our attic with no effects from summer heat or winter cold.
That said, the CM15A uses a crystal oscillator for the uP and xtal oscillator frequency stability tends to be sensitive to thermal changes. You can only experiment, I doubt it will just up and quit, but if you run in to sudden eratic operation of the CM15A I would suspect a thermal problem.

My CM15A has been extremely reliable when the ambient temperature is between 67.0F and 67.1F degrees.
Outside of that range, I just don't know what it's gonna do...  ;D ;D ;D

The CM15A uses the Cypress micro-controller's internal oscillator instead of an external crystal oscillator. The micro-controller is spec'd at 0 to +70C operating temperature, so there should be no stability issues in that range.

You must of gotten one off the models that passed QC. My best operating temperature range is 68.00 to 68.01.   ;)
