bad modules

is there anyway to troubleshoot a module to see if it is bad

You mean short of plugging it into the same outlet as a mini/maxi controller and seeing if it works?
What kind of module are you having trouble with?

i have about 20 modules, lamp, appliance, 2 way appliance. ahp, pampads, lola, e.t.c the whole system just stopped working this morning when i went to turn on the stereo, with the palm pad.

If everything is controlled through the CM15A and you don't have any other controllers to test with. The CM15A would be my suspected problem. Have you tried to unplug it and then wait a few minutes and reconnect it? Some line noise may have locked it up. If you have more than one controller and all don't work. Let us know.

One more thing comes to mind that I would like to add to Brian H's thoughts.
If the WHOLE system stopped working, you might be suffering from a signal flooding.
Try an advanced search on "Firestorms" for more information.

Good thought on the Firestorm of signals. If you have a X10 repeater. Try turning it off and see if some of the modules again start working.
