continually dimming lights
« on: April 13, 2008, 11:44:34 PM »

I'm using three-way dimmer switches. My lights now will fade on and off continually. I needed to disconnect the wall switch to turn off the lights. The switches are relatively new 6 months old. They were replaced after several years because they stopped functioning properly.

"The switches are relatively new 6 months old."

Are you saying the new switches worked fine for six months and then suddenly started the DIM-BRIGHT problem?

If, however, the new switches started the DIM-BRIGHT cycle as soon as installed, check the wiring on your companion switches.

I'm saying they worked fine for about 6 months, then started acting out.
