LapTop w/Vanguard

Here is a  dumb question... Can I  Switch Cameras via Vanguard with a LapTop.. or does it have to be a Desktop.?
The more I read about this system it uses the house wiring to switch camera on and off.. I have installed mine with a Laptop and  can not switch camera from within the software..

Ok I figured it out.. the USB port did not have enough power without a powered USB hub.. When I put a Powered Hub inline all worked fine..

You could have also used a double USB to single adapter USB for more power.
