I have been working through a similar issue.

While playing with a DS10A, at one point I removed the batteries. After I put them back in, the battery icon showed up in the DS10A module in AHP. I assumed this was for a low battery indication so I changed out the batteries for brand new. This did not clear the battery icon so I started to investigate what this icon was for.
Finally I found a sequence that allows this icon to be cleared:

* unplug USB from CM15A
* unplug CM15A from receptacle
* put new batteries in DS10A
* press and hold test button on DS10A for at least one second, on release you get the double flash
* start AHP, plug in CM15A to receptacle, plug in USB

Low battery icon should now be gone in AHP. If the DS10A does not work then you might have to 'install' again.
Perhaps all the steps above are not required but it worked for me!

I do not believe the Battery Icon has anything to do with the battery condition. I had one DS10A with the battery icon showing, and tried new batteries, and tried reinstalling several times. The icon would not go away. After reinstalling all was good until the hourly heartbeat reported in to AHP then the icon would appear in AHP at that time.

The icon appears to be a malfunction indicator. The solution to my problem was to cycle the DS10A several times by opening/closing the reed relay. I first noticed that when I opened the window, the light on the DS10A did not flash like it should.

I used a different magnet to cycle the DS10A several times until the light flashed correctly. The battery icon has not shown up since then. I suspect that if you see this battery icon in AHP, that sensor is probably not going to give any protection if activated by opening /closing a window or door. Those icons need to be eliminated from the AHP displayed modules. If you see those battery icons, you have a problem and you probably aren't being protected by those sensors.

My suggestion would be to cycle the DS10A several times to insure correct operation, and then reinstall in AHP.

Cheers...
