To start a macro with a timer, should I just use a dummy module trigger"OFF".
and a  macro start timer. (B1 trigger-OFF-macro timer starts a 6:00am)
 
Or should I use a  dummy module and use its timer  "ON" to start the macro (B1 ON trigger--B1 phantom module on at 6:00 am to trigger macro)

Is there a way to set up a macro with just a timer as the trigger, rather than the HC/UC?

If you look in the lower right corner of your macro Icon, you'll see a small "clock" symbol.

Left click on the clock and it will bring up the "timer designer".  Once a timer has been set, the clock symbol will be shown in green.

That's what I did and it works fine, But I don't have or need a trigger(besides the timer), so I just put B1 in the box and checked OFF. I don't have any "B" modules or even a B1 dummy.
It would be nice if in the trigger box, you could enter "timer"

Now I understand your question (Homer Slap).

You're correct that AHP wants a trigger of some sort specified. It would be nice to be able to enter "none", but that's not an option.

Assigning the macro to an unused House/Unit code is the best option here.
