x10 conceptualization

So, I'd like to take advantage of x10, but I have no idea if I'm actually thinking about this the right way, or if the hardware I want to use is going to work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the situation:

I've got a bunch of stuff that's hooked up to two surge protectors that I turn off when not in use in order to cut out any "phantom power" use (especially from the TV, Wii, Xbox, etc).  Also, there is only one insufficient overhead light, so I have three lamps that I turn on to help out with some ambient lighting.

I want to use an XPR switch in the wall to plug in the two surge protectors.  Then, I would like to use an XPT4 wall switch with the top button dedicated to local control of the overhead light, the second button for the lamps, and the third and fourth to independently control the surge protectors connected to the XPR receptacles.

Will this work?  Am I missing anything?
Thanks for any help.
