DS7000 Used as a Fire/Smoke Alarm-- With Pics
« on: March 23, 2009, 06:48:44 AM »

I'm in no way trying to take credit for this mod. The original post can be found here: http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=13542.0

I had done this mod myself (and it works). And thought it would be nice to have pictures of the steps, in case someone else wanted to try it.  :' A picture is worth a 1000 Words......... If you follow the steps that James S listed in the his post you should have NO problems.

Picture #2: Close up of 5vdc Relay and Radio Shack Part #
Picture #3: WS10A Door/Window Sensor
Picture #4: DS10A with the Magnetic Contacts Removed

Picture #9: Finished Picture of Relay sitting inside Smoke Detector
Picture #10: Cover Installed back on Smoke Detector and Showing how DS10A's wires are run thru the housing
Picture #11: The Finished Mod ready to be installed

This mod is pretty simple to do.. For the "Jumper Wires", I just used short pieces from the DS10A... I know my "soldering" needs a little work in the pictures,  :)% but it has improved since these were taken.

 >! Well I hope if anyone was thinking about trying this mod that this post will help..............
