camera switchin on it's own

OK I did all that and more. It still crashes when finished recording. You could never use this while you were away to moniter your property. I give up.

I want to report a happy ending. I can record stills just fine and the software setup doesn't switch cameras on me. Hopefully X10 or microsoft will get the bug out of the program. Thank everyone of you for sticking with this and seeing it thru. I hope I get better at understanding how this all works so I can help someone too.

I'm glad you got at least part of it working!   :)%  I don't have the vanguard software but if it is anything like IWatchout that comes with AHP then you could probably change codecs and fix the crashing problem.

If you can try to switch the default codec to Microsoft Codec 1.  I believe thats the one.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Just play around with the software and try some different things!  You'll get used to it!  And pretty soon you'll be posting and helping someone else out!
