Water thermometer
« on: July 16, 2009, 04:14:39 AM »

I've been thinking about automating some of the management tasks of my saltwater fishtank. Not because I have to but just for fun. I've never used x10 or any other home automation tool but I'm curious to know if I could use it for my fishtank project.

The first challenge: reading the water temperature and sending it to a computer which then would store the data automatically. Preferably wirelessly but wired is also ok.  Can this be done?

I read about this years ago.  But can't remember where.  Google aquarium or fishtank x10 or something to that.  I think there is even software out there for this and if i remember right it used to be freeware.  Not sure now.
