Need help with setting up old equipment
« on: July 27, 2009, 01:16:25 PM »

I am trying to do a very simple test.  I plugged in a wireless video camera (XC19A), set it to A2.  Plugged in the wireless video receiver (VR36A), set it to A, and connected the video out to the tv video in.  the tv says that there is no input, and the screen is blank.  both antennas are pointing to each other and are about 10 feet apart.  if i plug in a dvd player to the tv video in, i can see the dvd video, so the tv connection is working.   what am i doing wrong?  thank you so much for your assistance.

Make sure that the camera frequency is set to "A" also.  It's under the rubber plug in front.  Also check that the receiver is on the right channel 3 or 4.  ;)

Under the rubber plug is a switch, but it is not labeled.  Which position should it be in?  The video receiver does not have any settings except for Channel A,B,C or D.

I believe that "A" is at the bottom if I remember right.  And all of my receivers have the 2 switches. One for the frequency and one for which channel your using.

The switch is at the bottom (assuming the antenna is at the top and the power cord is at the bottom of the camera.)

The video receiver does not have a number selector.  If it did, it would only be able to receive video from one camera.  I can take some digital pictures on my VR36A Video Receiver and post them to show what it looks like.

The channel switch i'm referring to is that of the tv channel setting.  Have you tried different frequency channels?  Most tv's have to be either on channel 3 or 4 or sometimes aux.  On the receiver there is a channel switch on the bottom near the back.  Is there a red led light on in the front of the receiver when you plug it in?  This should be a very simple test.  But i've had simple things not work either.

Once you get everything hooked up and make sure all the switches are right and that the red led is on, try unplugging your camera and plug it back in.
