Will Firecracker S/W run on WIN10 64bit?

I was digging through some boxes that have been sitting for several years and found my old Firecracker. I installed the Firecracker S/W from the X10 site just to see if it works.  The program opens and I can open the setup screen but then the program freezes and it takes a 3 finger salute to get out.  If I start the program and click a button same thing.  Not a big deal as I don't need to use the thing but just curious.

It has been a while since I played with old X10 software on Win 10.
If I remember right it has to be run in compatibility mode for XP.

I suspected that might be the case. Thanks!

Which firecracker are you using? There were two, you know.  Not the software, but the hardware. A 17 or a 19?

This is the 17.  I have a 19 in my other place working with Alex10. My PC actually has a serial port so I just wanted to see if the 17 still worked.

I'm wondering if the lockup is due to way out of date hardware.

I'll be back at our other place at the end of the month where I have an XP machine still running and I'll try it there. I think it's just the old software as it locks up whether or not the 17 is even plugged in.  I'm in the midst of an "archaeological dig" through some boxes that have followed me around through 12,000 miles of moves for far too many years and the Firecracker turned up.  I've also found an elementary school report and a "candy dish" I made in 7th grade wood shop!

There are actually two versions of this software one with out the USB drivers and one with. If I remember the one without the USB drivers didn't work for me in Windows 10 the one with the drivers did.
