toggle version of WS13A?
« on: November 04, 2009, 10:51:30 PM »

I see there's a decorator (rocker) style on this module, but is there a standard toggle type? I need one in a 3-gang box downstairs and I don't think any plates exist that give you two toggles and a GFCI/decorator opening

oops! posted in wrong forum, Meant to post this in General home automation. darn mouse :(

I had a similar problem. Three toggle switches in a ganged box. In my case I wanted to add a spare Insteon module I had. Well it was decorator type paddles.

I did see some custom wall plates. Some had a mixture of decorator and toggle openings. One actually consisted of sections you could snap together. I could have bought two toggle end pieces and a decorator center piece for my setup. Only could find white so scraped that idea.

I ended up trying [I bought one] an Insteon Togglelinc [can have an X10 address programed into it] and it was slightly too large to fit my very small switch box. Changed all of them to decorator.  ???

White isn't an issue to me, every device in this house is white.

The main issue is the switch to replace is in the middle of the box. Although I suppose it wouldn't take much to just move it to one side or the other, if we can remember which one goes to it. ;)

In that case you may do best with the snap-together "sectional" wall plate pieces that Leviton makes.

Here's a link to them at Home Depot's site: Leviton "sectional" wall plate products at Home Depot

You can mix and match different end pieces and middle pieces to get pretty much any configuration you can think of.

Downside is that the seams between the pieces are pretty obvious.

In the real world, the only constant is change.
