Windows 7 Home Premium 64 + VA11a = ?
« on: February 04, 2010, 03:56:29 AM »

Is anyone out there aware of issues of VA11a and Windows 7 Home Premium not working? Please if anyone has some insight on this please enlighten me. I am not totally clueless with Windows 7 or VA11a seperately, I have used the video capture device for 5 years and three operating systems. I just cant get it to work with seven.

You may want to look at the VA11A wiki page it only shows compatible up to XP.

I believe the new VA12A is what you may need. It shows Vista compatible and I believe some have it working with Windows7 but maybe the 32 bit version.

You may want to read the following thread on the VA11A

Have you looked at the drivers download page?

Thanks Everyone for your feedback,
I solved the problem, not my first choice in remedy but it worked. I called my overseas supplier and I had them send me out a USB capture card. Its actually not bad, a 4 chanel DVR dongle (love that name) that only cost like twenty bucks. Software sucks, but I didnt buy it for that so.... I just used the drivers on the setup cd and pulled it into xray vision and walah! Anyways like I said, not my choice in remedy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
Thanks Again All

VA11A works with Windows 7 64 bit Professional or Ultimate under XP Mode.   Home Premium does not include XP Mode.

thanks!  good to know!!!  I have yet to find any of my old softwarre that used to work under XP that works under virtual XP!  I think it is due to ANOTHER limitation I get for a fast computer:  QUAD core processor!  I have a 2 channel 200mhz usb nifty scope I use when on the road to help find noise problems on servo machines and it has drivers from everything BUT quad core processors!  Kills me!  Even my DBASE dos program won't run under it!!!  I use DOSBOX to still use it as it is our main database for orders and things here.  Someday I will write a new program but I am lazy and Dbase works on other machines.  Sorry for rambles but I am glad to hear there is SOMETHING that works in that virtual world.
