I just got my new x10 icon remote and am having a tought time programming a macro.  the only thing i can find in the manual and online is how to "learn" a macro.  Is there a way to program it with keys i have already learned in different device lists without having to relearn them.  Second, is there a way to remove or rename some of the devices i dont use on the main menu.  I would like to use one of those buttons for my power on and power off macros and just blank out the ones i don't use. thanks for any help

With no answers to this post, may I assume that the answer to both questions is no? As a new IconRemote purchaser, I think my problems are very similar. I have 3 devices (TV, Sat, and DVD player) that I already know the codes for. I am trying to chain these 3 codes together to toggle power on and off to these 3 devices with one button. This is a simple task with my Universal remote. I have read where others have had some success chaining "learned codes" together. I guess that is not an option for me as it will not learn a device code. FAILURE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY AGAIN? Even after changing the Key Transmit Time to every possible position, this still does not work learning one simple device code.
Without being able to perform this feature, this remote looks to be nothing more than a very expensive PalmPad X10 remote.
Any ideas?

Are you aiming the training remote at the back end of the Icon remote?  I only ask because sometimes people don't realize that the Icon's learning "eye" is actually on the end that normally faces the user, not the end that normally faces the TV, etc.

Piggy backing on to Bills comment.

I have found the angle between the teaching remote and the rear pickup of the ICON is also critical. My Icon would not learn functions from my home theater remote (both setting flat on a table within 1/2 inch of each other) until I elevated the front of the HT remote about 1/8 inch.

Teaching remote positioning can be critical. Learning under fluorescent lighting can cause problems also, and finally if you have consistent problems with learning from one particular remote, try the learn process in a darkened room.
