Some Modules Stopped working
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:44:07 PM »

After a couple of years working without issue all of a sudden a few will no longer work.  The modules and software seem to work fine in some outlets and not others.  They worked in the current locations for more than 2 yeas then just stopped??  Any ideas?

If the modules worked before, still work when plugged into a different outlet and don't work when back in their original outlet, then most likely something new has been plugged in on the circuit that those modules normally inhabit.   ;)

What changed?

In the real world, the only constant is change.

Jeff's great troubleshooting tutorials may give you some good ideas on what to look for.

I would first think something new has been added to the home to effect the X10 power line signals or something in the home has started to fail.
We have seen things like deteriorating CFLs getting noisy doing things.

I guess your controller could be failing and sending a lower signal on the power line, but that would not be my first thought.
