Newbie(?) questions.
« on: May 17, 2010, 04:13:09 PM »

I have spent close to a total of two days logged in here in the past 8 weeks or so. Members here have been a great help, thanks a bunch.

My DS700 works great now that I replaced a mariginal Door /Window sensor.  My  AHP CM15A works  and has stopped crashing  however I am still having a hard time understanding much of it. User's Macro posted here speak of Flags and other conditions but where are such. Does one need the Smart Macros or On Alert Plug ins and if so how / where do you get them. If I click on Download Plug Ins it does nothing ,same with clicking on either plug in and information.

I see many references to backing up the xhp(?) file but  I do not have on in the AHP folder there is a config file however. ahp_config

From the hundreds of post I have read many seem to be cas confused as I am when it comes to macros.  The Example Macro Wizard in the AHP intro (help)  helps but other more advanced example sure would help.

When you purchased the AHP CM15A package. Was it one of them that included the plug ins?

I guess not but as X-10 is unclear on such .

CM15A Interface with USB Cable
Active Home Professional Sotware
One Years Replacement Warranty

As I posted in another thread I never received any email notification with a link to software. I found out where to download and how to register here on the forum. I emailed support but never received an answer as is the case reported so many times here.

Added:

IMO If the Plug-ins are additional then it should have been so listed. Also when the Download Plugins or Plug in Information is clicked  a site / message e should inform one that they need to  to XXX and purchase same.

The allmost complete lack of info on these products is enough to make one want to box everything up and send it back. I like to tinker and love a challenge but shooting in the dark can be dangerous.

Yes I also didn't get the email the first time. They eventually sent it to me after bugging them. ;D

My invoice lists each plug in on a separate line.
SW32A Smart macros
SW33A IWatch
SW39A myHouse
SW39A Home Security Solution
Each has its own registration number. Actually the Invoice Number and a different - Suffix.
I believe the downloader stub they send you may also be keyed to what was in the package or the download computer knows the invoice number and what you should have gotten.

Now that we know what you have. Your question on macros maybe easier to answer.

Has anyone given you the wiki link for AHP?
Not sure if any added information in it will help.

Thanks now I get it . The idea is to get one started then sell them more software along with more modules  to control other things with.

Foolish me to think it was a complete software package. I now understand why there are so many third party software programs developed  for the X-10 devices.

I looked again and still se no reference point to purchase addational plug in.

Thanks for the help.

Near the top of the page. Hope the promo video isn't too much for you.  rofl

Sometimes they have the whole package with plug ins for $49.99
This one has a stick a switch. The one I got last year had a three pin CFL friendly appliance module.

I had noticed recently they split the CM15A and software for a base kit of $29.99 if memory is serving me.
