x10 Newsletter
« on: July 09, 2010, 07:03:18 PM »

So I have recently been getting e-mails with the title X10 Newsletter.  I have looked at some of them and the one I was just reading showed:

Best Deal Ever
16 zone security system for just $69.99

which is a security console, 2 keychain remotes and 16 DS10As

I then scroll a bit further down the "Newsletter" and see:

First Time Ever
16 zone security system for only $99.99

The only differences between this one and the other one is that there is only one keychain remote (a $39.98 value) and one handheld security remote (a $26.99 value) , and the kicker of this deal, 4 warning STICKERS.........Value..........$29.97.  ???  That is $7.50 per sticker  :-\ that I could make on my color laser printer for about 20 cents for an entire page of like 10 or so.  Not to mention that the handheld remote is valued cheaper than the keychain remote and you get two of the keychains with the $69.99 deal.  $30.00 more for a "DEAL" that looks to be not much more value.

Some of these "VALUES" that they put on some of these "DEALS" are redonculous.  Trying to make these deals look so sweet you can't pass them up sometimes makes them look like some kind of scam.  Like the 4 window stickers for $29.97.

Put too much frosting on a cake and it starts to taste bad.  rofl

They do this all the time.  Up near the top you may see "4 XXX for the price of one".  A little further down you may see "3 XXX for the price of one".  Then a little further down you may see "5 XXX for the price of one" or "Buy 2 XXX and get 1 free".  Finally at the very bottom you'll see "XXX, price $$".  (All the same XXX.)

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.

That's the major reason I terminated getting the X10 Newsletter.  Don't need any more junk in my inbox.

It is also possible to find things like Lamp and Appliance Modules for one price in an offer and a better one in another offer all on the same day.
That maybe why some have decided to go with Authorized X10 dealers on EBay.

When the original Icon Model remote was being sold. This is awhile back folks.
There was a click here to see the price box.  Each time I clicked it a different price appeared.  ??? $79.99 to $49.99 . I kept hitting the back button and requesting a price. When it said $49.99 I bought one.  :)%

Yes I know things are different with the IconRF now being sold for $29.99
