temporarily switching from heyu to activehome
« on: August 20, 2010, 04:27:21 PM »

My linux HA server is down until I can get some new SATA cables from the manufacturer, so I'm wondering is there any FREE windows or mac software that I can use in the meantime to upload macros and timers to the cm11a?

ActiveHome (Windows) is free.

It can be downloaded from:
http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/

or:
http://www.smarthome.com.au/p--ActiveHome+vs+ActiveHome+Pro-317.html

Try them out -  They worked the last time I checked.....   ;)

'Best I can say is try it out...  I seem to remember it being free.

I bought a CM11A on Ebay that came with no software, and I know I got it working with one of those 2 links, if I recall correctly.  ;)

ok i was able to turn some basic modules on and off with it....

my pcs switches weren't responding as I chose the basic wall dimmer switch in AH.

also, it wasnt able to download the timers and macros that were already on the cm11 as uploaded by heyu. I would think it would be able to read the cm11a....

lastly is there software that enables activehome to support the w800usb antenna?

It is ActiveHome PRO that is $50 which needs the CM15A USB module.  ActiveHome is the older software that is free and uses the CM11A which is what you have.

Ok but it looks like the only way to use my w800usb is with the onalert plugin with ahp...

Also AH cant seem to read the cm11a's memory contents and I don't want to erase it ...

True AH can not read the CM11As memory.
Then again AHP can not read the CM15As memory either.
