When I press and hold the PWR button on the VCR Commander the Red LED does Not stay on continuously as it should.

Instead, the VCR Commander beeps and the LED flashes once, then 8 times, then a long and short beep/flash.  It then repeats that same pattern and the LED Never stays on full.

I've removed the batteries and powered it down and back up.  Haven't found a way to reset it.

I Did try to program the Record and Stop and the Programming seems to work as it should, but the Commander's LED is neither on nor blinking to indicate it's status.  The LED is off and stays off.

Any suggestions?
