X10's new low
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:38:20 PM »

For years the loyal X10 fans have been commenting on the overuse of sexually suggestive ads that X10 uses to try and sell more products.  We all commented favorably a few months back when the ads seemed to take a turn toward being more professional.  The latest ad has taken several steps backward in my opinion:
http://www.x10.com/products/0927sale.html

OK, they have the scantily-clad woman pictured on the phone...  But look just below that...  They have cameras strategically placed in the bedroom, facing the bed; the living room, facing the couch; the basement; and the bathroom.  B:(

Do any of us really hide cameras facing the bed and toilet?   ???

C'mon, X10.  Let's get out of the sewer, and join the rest of us in the gutter.

Maybe they are trying to say. You can monitor your cameras even when busy in the bathroom bedroom or cellar.  ;D

1 - Sorry, pal, but I gotta disagree there.   ;)
2 - Yeah! Great deal!   :o  But I have one already, too...   :'(

But, although I may have been a little off base with this post, I think the suggestion is there with the pictures of these areas that light up sequentially, like you were scanning from camera to camera.

I also am greatful that there are two new X10 products that are pretty high-tech.   #:)

I don't mind the slightly suggestive stuff so much. X10 really has turned their Web Page around.... and I am thankful they did. And it's nice to see ANY new automation product as far as I am concerned. The cell phone products are AWESOME COOL (although admittedly.. I haven't used them yet). My phone is rarely more than arms reach from me.

I used the link in nybuck's post and I didn't see any "scantily-clad woman pictured on the phone" or any other scantily-clad woman.

That explains it. I selectively delete cookies from Firefox.

Great power of observation...  That is another good theft-deterrent.  Who would think of breaking in there?   :)%
