Maybe a zone not reporting in and it is flagged as an error.
Are any of the Zone LEDs flashing?
Do you have more than eight zones installed?

To go over what Brian said, try checking the last few pages of the manual: ftp://ftp.x10.com/pub/manuals/ds7000-om.pdf

There's a very good "Troubleshooting" section that should tell you what's up.
A few pointers from what I have learned in using the system myself:
-Make sure your door is closed before you press "Arm"
-Make sure your sensor is lining up and reporting properly (To check, set it to "Run 2" and see if it chimes when you open the door)

Let us know how it goes!
