Light problem i found a cause
« on: December 12, 2010, 09:23:52 AM »

Hi
Im new with x 10,Im starting building my system but before i go further ,i want to solve my problem.
Ive got 3 light install 2 with ws12a in 2 separate room (kitchen and desk room) and the other one with a socket rocket control by a eagle eye(closet)
Ive got a problem with the light in the desk room ,no response from any controler hr12a,sss13a except if the light is on in the kitchen it working.
I found that when the light is off in the kitchen it not working except when heat goes on the light in the deskroom work.
so very strange when ther a current draw the light work in the deskroom.
im using tm751 transeiver
Could it be the switch in the deskroom that is defective?
Any help Thank

Are the lights standard incandescent bulbs on the WS12As?
Sounds like you have some power line noise problems or the WS12As maybe on the other phase of the home.
Do you have an electric dryer or stove? If you do try turning it on and see if the problem switch's work better.
Also many modern electronic devices make power line noise or absorb X10 signals.
Here are a few threads and links to information.

Smarthome 1626-10 is a ten amp one
Act AF120 is a fifteen amp one.

The low voltage LED strip should not be connected to any type of dimmer switch. Like the WS12A.
