New AHP Version 3.302 Released 1/10/2011
« on: January 10, 2011, 10:49:46 PM »

AHP version 3.302 was released today.
Here are the changes:

Version 3.302 Updated 01/10/2011
    * Bugfix. CM15A transmitted some bright/dim commands on both powerline and RF.
    * Updated several lamp modules to use Softstart.
    * Depreciated modules moved to the "Older Lamp" category so users with older modules can continue to use them.
    * ActiveHome Pro core file update.

You can download the new version here:

Well, AHP is crashing when I close it now.
This is happening on two of my XP SP3 systems, but not on my Win7 Pro x64 system.

Anyone else seeing this?

Okay, it just crashed on Win7, too.

Something's not right here. I wish we could get the developers to pay attention.

How do we select which type of lamp module we have (softstart or not)?
I tried to change one of mine to the "old" type, but the setting didn't stick. When I left that "room" and came back, it was back to the newer style.

I see that most of the plug ins also have a new .302 suffix.
Anyone know if each one has to be installed separately? I thought the newer base AHP installer would also do any of the optional plug ins you had.

The new installers do install all of the base files.

We are updating all of the installers so that users doing clean installs won't then have to go back and run the ActiveHome Pro install, or whatever is more recent, again after installing their plugins or risk compatibility issues.  I am also working on fixing the compatibility issues so I don't have to build everything for every release, but I am updating everything in the mean time.

The issues pointed out by Noam have been fixed and 303 should be available soon.  I am putting the installers together now.

Eric,  Is there any possibility that a special version of AHP without any plug-ins could be produced for the X10 users like myself who don't need or have any of the plug-ins?  I upgraded to AHP in July of 2005 when the PC I was using was upgraded to XP and the motherboard gave the serial ports trouble, so the old serial interface would vanish and reappear at odd times, so I upgraded.

It is possible.  I am still a bit confused why you would want this though?  The all plug-ins installer is only about 8.5MB larger than AHP by itself is.  The average user is getting a much better experience, only needing to run a single install to upgrade, and there is a lot less confusion with install orders being reported to tech support.  Is there any benefit to an ActiveHome Pro only installer other than to save a negligible amount of system bloat, or am I grossly underestimating the value of 8.5MB?

Granted that 8.5MB is compressed so its a bit larger when uncompressed.

Erik, why I'd like a version W/O plug-ins is 1. No BIG opening screen when you open AHP if you don't want or need plug-ins and 2. A smaller version that may be easy to produce. As far as operation, it would be a version of AHP very much like ActiveHome, just timers and a single macro.

Well, is a version W/O plug-ins in the future works, or is it an idea that will never see the light of day?
