Installed wall switch (467) and built a macro to sense motion and turn on at 50%,  delay 1 min. and turn off.
It will not respond from the motion sensor to turn on (the macro runs) but the light will not turn on.  If I turn it on manually from the switch
and trip the motion sensor, wait for the minute for the delay to run the light turns off.
From the activity monitor:
hallway motion sensor:  B15  triggers macro
Receive RF B15 on
macro E5
macro E bright 100%
macro e dim 50%
  * * * * *  light does not come on * * *
1 min later: Receive RF B15 off
                 Receive RF B15 off
macro E5
macro E Off

When I submitted this I was taken to a list to topics (I thought I had searched all of the lists, but missed this one) Soft-start Dimmer Problems submitted by Boiler.
After reading his wonderful description of the problem and adjusting my macro  the lights work as I had wanted.
Thank You Boiler for the info that tech support at X10 could not provide me.

Edited to link to the topic the OP mentioned.

Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of historical knowledge was lost at X10 over the past few years, as people left.
Those of us who have been on these forums from the beginning probably know more about certain topics (like their HUGE mistake with the SoftStart modules - giving them the same part number as the modules they replaced) than the X10 support people do. Most of them have probably never even seen a non-softstart module.

Maybe X10  should pay US to train THEIR people ;-)

They should also pay us as their competent Tech Support department.
