DS10a connecting wire
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:10:08 PM »

Hi
Where can I buy some of this wire that connects the DS10a to the reed switch, I think its a 2/8 flat white. I have searched the net, and cannot find a thing, guess my wording must be off. Thanks also spare magnets and switches.

That stuff looks like maybe #26/2 or maybe even smaller #28/2.
You don't have to use that small a gauge but it is easier to work with

The guys are right, it is a very light guage. Rather than buy it , when a need some I open a drawer of dozens of obsolete electronic power supplies and chargers and chop off a piece. Then I can finally throw out the sacrificed unit that's been getting free rent for many years! :D

Thats Ok if its hidden but not for it to be on show. Isn't strange how you keep all those chargers and power supplies just in case, as if they are Gold Coins, and when it comes to find one that fits your requirements its anything but in that big box.

Yeah, but all the old stuff is probably inductive rather than switching power supplies. They can't deliver the current of a switcher, but they had no noise either. I have boxes of them also, but just can't bring myself to throw them away.   ::)
