Simple timer to turn on light stopped functioning
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:13:18 AM »

I have a timer setup to turn on and off my porch light. The start time is set to go on with an offset after dusk. The off time is set for 10pm. This timer has been working for several years until recently. I investigated the activity monitor log. For my turn on trigger I normally would see 'B5 On' (Porch Light). Instead I get 'B5 extended Code 3e 31 Preset receiver operation' (Porch Light).
I also observed in the activity monitor that the 'Off' command is still a simple 'B5 Off' (Porch Light) sent at the scheduled time.

I have another light running with a similar scheduled timer which continues to operate without issue.

What would cause this change in the 'On' trigger for only this light? I had made no changes to my system.

You have not updated to the latest AHP. If I read your message correctly. Latest is now 3.310.
Are the switches new enough to be soft start. Where they ramp on and off?
If they are soft start where you using the work around for older AHP by calling them a LM14A?

Have you defined your lights as Old(non softstart)Lights?
If you running a newer version of AHP this needs to be done!

Tuicemen/Brian H - Thank you for your feedback and guidance. I updated my light modules as non softstart (old) modules as this has corrected the issue.
Lesson learned is for me to be more dilligent regarding release notes and changes brought about with new releases.
Thanks again,
Cary

This is weird I just started having this problem the other day. Out of the blue. But changing them to old style no softstart worked.  :)+
