Unhappy new customer

I do not know this is a appropriate place to tell this.However, I still want to tell people my experience of buy X10 products.

In a chance I read an article tell about X10products, then I started to pay attention X10 security products. I subscribe to the X10 newsletter. Early March 2011, I continued receive X10 new security products, SMART Home Security System, promotional email. Finally, I give in to temptation. I ordered then SMART Home Security System Package for $149 online on March 22. After a long wait and telephone reminders, I finally received my items. But to my surprise that was supposed to be new SMART Series has turned into the old series. I should be this order,(http://www.x10.com/promotions/sc1200_security_lcd_new.html)

That should included:

8 Smart Door / Window Sensor (DS12A)
2 Smart Security Keyfob Remote (KR32A)
1 Lamp Module (LM465)
4 Home Security Decal - Window Sticker (MM024)
2 Smart Wireless Security Motion Detector (MS18A)
1 Security Console (SC1200)
1 Security Remote Control (SH624)

But I have received were

.....
Door / Window Sensor (DS10A)
Security Keychain Remote (KR10A)
Security Motion Detector (MS10A)
....

These are not new SMART series, are the previous products except the “Security Console (SC1200)”.

It like I spent $149 just bought a “Security Console (SC12)”, now I have to go somewhere else to buy matching products.

I do not have much time to get entangled, but as a first purchase X10 products, a new customer, I think it is necessary to speak out and let more people be more careful when they are shopping.

The kit was changed a few weeks ago to include the DS10A MS10A and KR10A.

The kit looks like it got changed back to the original  DS12A MS18A and KR32A again.

My thoughts are yours was shipped when the older parts where in the kit.
Do you remember if you looked at the whats included area of the sales page. It may have indicated the DS10A MS10A and KR10A modules.

X10 says the KR10A MS10A and DS10A are supposed to work with the SC1200 but I can see why you are not happy. Included modules in kits seems to be a never ending chain of changes.

I agree with Brian about this unfortunate example. I have ordered many times and they seem to have a good system to ensure the correct items are shipped. The sales order generates a checklist in the Canadian distribution centre and a person hand checks all items as he/she boxes them. The catch is the ever changing offers they have sometimes are subtle in their differences. I have been caught waiting for a price drop on a package and jumped too fast based on price only. I thought I bought new stuff but it was refurbished.(It still worked out for me) You can easily see how someone can be caught by this aspect.

Yes. All  KR10A MS10A and DS10A are worked with the new SC1200. And they also give me an extra old Security Console, "Monitored Security Console DC821". It's pretty old. But I like it. I conected all X10 security stuff with this old console. because the old cosole siren is alouder than the new SC1200 siren. and the the signal range is further. It seems I should buy the previous generation scurity products.

I have the same problem and have waited for hours to talk to someone and no one answers phone. Have sent e-mails and have no response, I am notifying my credit card company to cancel my transaction unless anyone knows how to help with my problem

Old stuff all I want is the new kits as I ordered fed up of poor response from x10 contacting my CC company to stop payment

What is the solution please, yes I received older kits. No response back fromX10 to solve my issue.

Have you tried the Order Problem page on X10 support?

We are a user to user forum and have no direct connection to X10. Except they are paying the bills for the forums on their servers.
There are occasionally an X10 employee here. Mostly the software programmes now.
So we can't do much for you directly.

I finally installed a system that came with the MS10A and the DS10A sensors.  This is the second system that I installed, and actually found the DS10A sensors to be easier to install.  The newer DS12A sensors are much trickier since the sensor and transmitter are in the same unit.  One thing about the MS10A and rechargeable batteries.  The NiMh batteries that I have are a little larger in diameter than standard AA batteries.  This has never been a problem with most applications.  I did find that four of these batteries will not fit in the MS10A.  I had to use standard AA's.  They fit in the MS12A without any problems.

They just wast our time. Whatever the new stuff are worse or better, I should get the exactly what I ordered. Now, I just order some stuff from http://www.x10packagedeals.com/, they are honest and no much speciosity Ads
