CM19A with TM 751A
« on: February 18, 2012, 04:07:07 PM »

I just received a CM19A and TM751A transceivers from X-10, to replace my older X-10 version CM11A interface (which works fine except I can no longer reprogram any timing events due to software incompatibility (Windows 7) .   I am very concerned that the "new" CM19A will not send out programmed signals if I disconnect the CM19A from my laptop or if I turn my laptop off.   I don't recall reading of this limitation in any of the promotional data for the product  B:(.    It seems to me the stand-alone (battery backup) interface used in the CM11 interface is a much better setup for me since I don't generally have my laptop on 24/7.   Are there any adapters/software to upgrade my CM11 interface, or a replacement for the CM19A that will still send commands connected or not connect to the PC ?    Also, on my order form it appears I was to get the CM15K transceiver and not the CM19A transceiver.   I am really disappointed  :(

The CM15A USB Interface was replaced by the CM15K kit that is a CM19A with TM751.
As you found out. It does not have a power line receiver or power line sender.
It uses the TM751 to send power line signals from the RF command sent by the CM19A.
It has to be running on a computer 24/7 to work and has no way to run with the computer Off or have anything downloaded to it.

If you are using a CM11A as AHP will now also run it.
You may do better getting a real CM11A from one of the online dealers.

If I miss read your post and are using a CM11A with the old Active Home. I am not sure what you best choices will be.

Richard.. welcome to the X10 Frustrated Club.   I have been tearing my hair off since they discontinued the Cm15A. We have the same similar situation... At least you got the replacement... For me... they told me to wait for 3 months.. I am not sure how long have you waited to get that CM15K kit.
