S3160M shutter module problem
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:03:16 PM »

Hi all,

I have some s3160m shutter modules.  Does anybody have some experience with those modules?

When I connected the black and red wires together using a switch for local control, the module simply blew up  B:(

Before trying this again (in my opinion, I connected according to the manual) and blowing up another module, i would like to know if anybody has used this module with or without having the same problem?

BTW: I also have some SW12 modules, and they work fine.

Thanks in advance for your replies,

Kristof.

The switch was a dry contact type with no line or neutral connections?
Did you double check the AC wiring to the motor?
Connecting the Red to Black would activate the module and if the output was not correct. That could damage it.
Hopefully another UK user will chime in as we don't have any of the special modules you have access to.

Switch was indeed a simple dry contact.

I'm pretty shure the AC wiring to the motor is OK, when I use a local switch or SW12 module everything is working fine.

Thanks for your input.
