DS12A to IHouse
« on: September 24, 2012, 05:48:18 PM »

I posted this on IHouse too..

I've been searching for a way to have the DS12A or 10A talk to I-House. Most posts are from 2010 saying it might be added. Others say to use dummy macros/devices. I've tried the dummy macros, but I still can't get the icon to show in I-House.
I have a DS12A connected to my gate to let me know if the gate is opened. I want to add a graphic to IH to show when it is open.
Can it be done yet?
So far I am able to get it to work with a hacked MS14A. Strange thing about the hacked MS is that the unit number has to be set one number lower then the unit you want to control. Why? Don't know. But if you do, let me know.

Here are some links to show how to have the MS14A and other MSs send a X10 house code and unit number with a switch (DS10A).

The MS14A hack is to the dusk dawn sensor circuit. It is one Unit Code higher than the motion sensors address.
So setting the motion unit code one number lower would give you the On and Off to the address you desired. Using the modified dusk dawn circuit. The motion sensor would still be active with the mod. So it is possible it could still send motion detection messages.

DS12A is a security type sensor and sends security messages that do not have a House Code and Unit Code address in the message.
Do you have the On Alert plug in for AHP? It allows you to add DS12A and DS10A sensors to your setup.

The WGL V572RF32 can also receive a DS12A or DS10A RF signal and map it to a standard X10 address.

The DM10A referenced in your second link. Was the outdoor motion sensor for the Robodog Barking Alarm Console.

I have a DM10A, strange beast. Only sends On commands never an Off after a time out.

I did put some electrical tape over the sensor and use that address as a dummy so I don't add it later, forgetting that it could be triggered.
So far this is working. I do have On Alert, but it will not send the message to I-House to show the icon.
