Hi - I have a mixed X10 and Insteon system, with the old X10 security system (the one they sold several years ago).  My house was wired with an ADT system that I don't use, and disabled, but I'm wondering if there's any way to use the keypad with my system.  Has anyone ever looked at what kind of signals/outputs are available from the keypads to see if one could be modified and used with a powerline interface of some kind to produce something that could be sent to X10?

Similarly, ADEMCO has some nice sensors (eg fixed heat/rate of rise sensor) - wondering if there's any way to modify them to work with one of the wireless transmitters from the X10 security system. (DS10a or something like that?).  I've been able to interface water sensors with those transmitter modules, wondering if other sensors can be used.

Sure anything that provides a contact closure can be interfaced easly with a DS10, DS12, or a PowerFlash. Things that provide a voltage out, (like an alarm light coming on on the ADT panel) might be able to be connected directly to a Power Flash (depends on voltage output) or to an interface relay for use with the DS modules. 

You need to research your alarm (at the system panel, the keypad by itself is pretty useless) to find out what's available on it.

I have looked at a few alarm system consoles connections for assisting others.
From what I have seen. The keypads if hard wired. Many have four connections. + Power, Common and two data bus signals. I doubt you could use one on any X10 systems.

The sensors you are thinking about. I would also say more research would be needed.
If they are powered by the console and send data. Again probably not too easy to use with X10.
Existing door and window magnetic switches wired to the original console. Maybe OK if connected to a X10 DS10A or DS12As external zone terminals. Though if they used EOL {End Of Line Resistors} to detect zone tampering or damage. They may have to be removed or bypassed.
