AM486 Causing T8 bulb flicker

I've got a single t8 15w fluorescent bulb that is used for backlighting for my tv. I've also got an older style AM486 that I am trying to use to switch the light. I've already snipped the diode and the jumper. In doing so, I went from a fast dim flash of the bulb to a maybe once per second dim flash. It seems the current sense is still causing the problem. I've read about how to completely stop the sensing on an LM465. And read it is possible on the AM486, but I can't figure out what needs to be done. I'm good with very simple circuitry but this is just a bit to complicated for me to figure out on my own. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Yea....I've looked at that but I still can't figure it out. B:(

If you have cut the jumper and diode and the lamp is still pulsing. Though slower now.
It is the small sensing current for the On Off status of the ratchet switch.
If you disable that small current. The module will not know if it is On or Off and pulse the switch a few times trying to change its state.
It will sound like a machine gun and the light will switch On and Off a few times.

Add a 33K 1 watt or 47K 1/2 watt resistor. Properly insulated across the output of the appliance module. Maybe in an AC plug so it can be plugged into the appliance module with the T8 lamp.
Simpler fix would be a small 4 watt incandescent night light bulb and the T8 bulb fixture on the appliance modules output.

Added the resistor. Works great now. Thanks!
