Sunsetter Awning X10 Control
« on: November 27, 2015, 10:22:03 AM »

Greetings!

Here is an X10 project for controlling your Sunsetter awning using AHP and X10 Commander.

Parts:

(1) Spare Sunsetter Remote - SOMFY #74300

(3) XM13A or XM16A addressable X10 camera power supplies with extended wiring from cameras. (Can also use XM10A with appropriate F-M adapter)

(3) SPST relays (5-12 VDC) - I used Magnecraft 172DIP-5 (5 VDC) Reed Relays SPDT. ( I recommend using Magnecraft 172DIP-7 (12 VDC)

(3) 14 Pin I.C. sockets (if using Magnecraft 172DIP-5 or 172DIP-7 Reed Relays)

(1) Small piece of perforated circuit board.
(1) Enclosure.

(1) 4 conductor phone cord with RJ11 plugs (as thin as possible). Black-Red-Green-Yellow

(1) Female-Female RJ11 phone coupler.

Tools:

#10 Torx security bit

Wire cutters

Wire Stripper

Small Philips head screwdriver

Soldering iron & Solder

Software:

AHP 3.318

X10 Commander App with PC Software ($9.99)

Step 1: Modify Sunsetter Remote.

Open Sunsetter remote using the small philips head screwdriver.

Remove Torx screw holding down circuit board. Carefully remove circuit board from remote housing.

Step 2: Construct Main Circuit.

Additional Photos:

Make 3 Macros - one each for UP - STOP(MY) - DOWN

Cheers! Rabbit

I've used a couple of them to power some small strip LED's under counters that had no lights.  They are under-spec for that task - but work like a charm.
